Panfocaccia at Forte Brescia: a renewed appetite for design

June 2015

A new space and new functions: Panfocaccia moves to a commercial zone only a few steps from old premises with the promise of a new adventure.

Panfocaccia finds a new single space for sharing many functions, uniting the consolidated activities of the bakery and delicatessen with those of the bar serving breakfasts, lunches and aperitifs. It was to underline this change of pitch that its image has been totally re-invented; always modern but alternating new and vintage elements such as the tailor’s work bench in the centre, to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

A great deal of attention was paid to every detail, from the custom-built tables in lacquered glass with brass borders recalling the main wall, a brass-plated “apiary” that can become an illuminated partition, container and back-rest for the seating.

The hexagonal motif has therefore become the dominant theme, recalled also in the decorative lamps above the counter and the main areas.
The floor is in resin-cement, deliberately left in its natural state and the only note of colour is in the classic Charles and Ray Eames seating which is an unusual ocean blue.
