Perfectly modern. When the past meets the future.

August 2023

A flat in the historic centre of Brescia, in a 1960s building that now houses offices and luxury homes.

The project – developed in collaboration with the architect Paolo Neè – entirely revisited the distribution of the space, with a view to elegance and practicality. A modern home with all the comforts of a luxury flat in a small space.

The large living area illuminated by the window wall is the real star. Vibrant, light and bright, it leads onto the terrace, a real “extra space” throughout the summer months. The style is modern, while introducing iconic and historic pieces of Italian and international furniture, in a constant dialogue between past and present. Here the table designed by Giò Ponti in 1959 is in the centre of the dining area along with Knoll armchairs. Pieces of furniture enhanced by the extremely contemporary and neutral industrial resin flooring.

The whole project is custom-made like a tailored suit. We personally designed the elements, made to measure for the client and personalised, like the long wall of wardrobes that clearly divides the more public living area from the private sleeping area. The reeded finish and brass inserts are a nod to the past and find new life in an essential form, expressed in an elegant, lacquered finish.

The dialogue between past and present continues in the bedrooms and bathrooms, where resin gives way to a wood floor with a warmer feel and the classic ceramic bathroom wall tiles have been replaced with wallpaper.

The house thus gains a contemporary and modern style which is both balanced and restrained.
